Rupert Spira is an English potter, philosopher and spiritual teacher, who started his spiritual path at age 15 inspired by the writings of Rumi. He explored the philosophy of Ouspensky and Gurdjieff, and investigated Sufism, even becoming a Whirling Dervish for a while, read the teachings of Ramarna Maharshi, and studied under Krishnamurti with his Advaita teachings.
In his fascinating exchange with a 13 year old boy, Rupert Spira explores the possibility that time, the future and the past, only exist as concepts in the mind; whereas in reality, there is only the Eternal Now.
This is a challenging concept to come to terms with, but this exchange makes it a little more comprehensible, in spite of the difficulties most of us have with it. Perhaps it is a good subject for contemplation?
