Have you ever noticed that when someone is looking intently towards something, others feel drawn to also look in that direction to see what is most engrossing attention? What is she or he seeing? Would I also be interested? We can observe the subtle currents that sweep through our everyday living, and this is a small example of how the power of light draws the eye to what might be revealed. Light is also magnetic in that it draws others into sharing the revelation.
It is a spiritual law that light attracts light. This applies both to the light visible to the physical eye and to the light of those realms that may be invisible to physical perception but are apprehended by our more subtle selves. As millions of human beings join together in seeing through the web of old limited perspectives to the underlying truths, we begin to experience a shared vision of the world we wish to inhabit and so draw it into being.
The new world is already subtly manifest in the vision being shared by more and more of us around the world – even as its shadowy opposite seems to be spreading across the surface of events. Beneath that surface a great expansive unifying movement is steadily gaining presence. The divine Plan for our world, held in the mind of the One in Whom we live and move, is inexorably unfolding. Some 80 years ago the Tibetan Master described this Plan:
The plan as at present sensed, and for which the Masters are steadily working, might be defined as follows:—It is the production of a subjective synthesis in humanity and of a telepathic interplay which will eventually annihilate time. It will make available to every man all past achievements and knowledges, it will reveal to man the true significance of his mind and brain and make him the master of that equipment and will make him therefore omnipresent and eventually open the door to omniscience. This next development of the plan will produce in man an understanding —intelligent and cooperative—of the divine purpose for which the One in Whom we live and move and have our being has deemed it wise to submit to incarnation.
…The development of the mechanism whereby a disciple may be en rapport with Those responsible for the working out of the plans, and the capacity to know (and not just dimly sense) that tiny aspect of the whole which is the immediate step ahead and with which cooperation is possible, that can be achieved by all disciples and should be held as the goal before all aspirants. …all can therefore strive towards achieving continuity of consciousness and at awakening that inner light which, when seen and intelligently used, will serve to reveal other aspects of the Plan and specially that one to which the illumined knower can respond and usefully serve.
~ A Treatise on White Magic, page 403
This Plan is becoming increasingly evident through awakening human hearts responding together to a new vision, a new rhythm, and who are sharing responsibility for it. People no longer acquiesce in exploitation or oppression, and new leaders are emerging who embody the new ideals so that others may more easily emulate them.
We are ultimately enfolded within a great Life, the Father of all that is, and it breathes through us to the degree that we are open to its flow. At the foundational level it constantly sustains our physical being. Each night in sleep we return to our inner being, yet our hearts keep beating, cells repair and restore themselves, and our material vehicles are maintained without assistance from us. On waking we return to those vehicles, so lovingly restored. Such is the beneficence of the great Life in which we live. The rhythmic withdrawal and return maintain the living link between the worlds while we grow into recognition of and identification with the One Life.
Realising this One Life changes our worldview; it is this change that is drawing forth a more unified perspective, enlightening the mighty field of human consciousness and its creative power. We are gradually extending our sensitive reach into the vast subtle dimensions of shared living. The light of those dimensions becomes more and more refined until, in the highest realm, it is indistinguishable from pure spirit from whence streams the purpose behind all things. A vaster reality substands the thin surface of materiality and, as realisation dawns, we consciously begin to identify the eternal light of our being.
As we expand our gaze upward into that finer light, so we draw others into that serene clarity where the creation of a new, beautiful and compassionate world becomes possible. And we, each and every one, are integral to it.
Learn of the power of the spirit.
Its strength is inexhaustible.
A word is but a minute part.
As the whirlwind is but the visible sign of turbulence,
As the snow is but the messenger of the cold,
As the lightning is but the eye of the storm,
So is the word as a grain of dust blown by the impact of a creative thought. The source of thought shines into the eyes of those who see.
And the chord of tension resounds into the sensitive ear.
And I, too, terrified, was overwhelmed at my nothingness.
But the Creator’s Greatness makes equal the grain of sand and the mountain.Understanding of the Beginning and of the Eternal fills each heart.
But be ready, and grant it entrance.Leaves grow each day, but flowers have their seasons.
