ONE FIRE is a new documentary released this year on the 150th anniversary of the birth of the Theosophical Society.

ONE FIRE’S title comes from a quote by Helena Petrova Blavarsky (HPB), Co-Founder of the Theosophical Society:

“The Path that leadeth on is lighted by One Fire – the light of daring burning in the heart.  The more one dares the more s/he will obtain”.

ONE FIRE, according to its synopsis, is not a chronicle of the Theosophical movement’s history but instead invites its viewers on a journey through the enduring impact of Theosophy across the arts, music, science, education, and politics.

ONE FIRE also illuminates how HPB’s seminal work, The Secret Doctrine, reveals the origins and evolution of the Cosmos, and humanity’s place in it.  It is said in the documentary that “behind all religions and philosophies there’s a common thread which HPB called the Secret Doctrine.”  HPB said that this common thread of the reality of the Secret Doctrine was not hers but rather the “echo of something far older whispered through the ages”; a flame waiting to be rekindled by those who dared to listen. She was responsible for giving it a form that made it more accessible to those seeking answers to fundamental questions: who am I and why am I here.

Her mission was dedicated to ignite the remembrance of our inner knowing that we are not separate beings but rather sparks of the eternal flame.

The co-founders of the Theosophical Society, HPB and Colonel Henry Steel Olcott, in their shared service work together sought to reveal this inner knowing or eternal Truths* – beyond dogma, division and illusion.  The cornerstone for the Theosophical Society is enshrined in their motto:

“There is no religion higher than Truth”
