The Art of Thinking in the Luminous Future

2025 was the year of the Hierarchical Conclave in which decisions were made that will direct the thought of Humanity for the cycle of the next 100 years to 2125.

2026 could be described as a threshold year of this new cycle as the celestial bodies in our Solar System take their place in this moment to manifest this year of new beginnings.

The new beginnings will be strangely unfamiliar, as they should be, if truly new.

It is our future we are entering in which the past is incompatible as we have the capacity to be new in every moment.

It is said in the Agni Yoga Teachings that:

“The search for new ways is the most imperative problem. Due to the unusualness of conditions of the future, it will be impossible to proceed by the old ways. All new ones must remember this. It is the worst thing when people do not know how to escape from the old rut. It is dreadful when they approach new conditions with their old habits. Just as it is impossible to open a present-day lock with a mediaeval key, likewise it is impossible for people with old habits to unlock the door to the future.
To all We shall say, “It is necessary, necessary, necessary, to find new ways!Infinity II, 84.

The ways will be many and varied and constantly new as we listen to the voice of the heart. The Aquarian labour, serves as an example of Hercules taking the time to listen to the voice of the heart and as he did so inventing a surprising solution to clean the Aegean Stables – a problem that has defeated many before him.

The Hierarchy, throughout their teachings offer clues as to how we might find new ways particularly through the process of identification. The Agni Yoga Teachings with their focus on union through identification with the whole are all about this process of identification. Thus, in relation to the future we might say: Let the future stand revealed as we stand in its revelation.

It’s time to realise that thinking is an art and we have the opportunity to practice its artistry.

It is said in the Agni Yoga teachings that:

“the art of thinking must be completely and consciously regenerated but without understanding the three worlds it is impossible to raise thinking to a new level”. Fiery World I, 541

The three worlds are those of:

    • the personality in the mundane or Manifest World of incarnated life
    • the soul in the Subtle World
    • the spirit in the Fiery World

We live in all worlds simultaneously and yet just as we can be overly preoccupied with past which impedes our participation in the future, being primarily focused within the Manifest World frequently relegates our awareness of the Subtle and Fiery Worlds to the shadows of life which impacts our equilibrium and health.

Essentially, the art of thinking is based on the embrace of our greater identity where we understand that we are truly citizens not just of our beautiful blue planet but of Cosmos: our eyes firmly focussed on the realisation of Infinity.

Our understanding of this art emerges through the Heart which is destined to replace all other mechanisms. It’s said in the Agni Yoga Teachings:

“The significance of the heart is great; in the future it will replace the most complex apparatuses. Verily, in the New Era people will appear whose organisms accomplish this. At present, people invent robots, but after this mechanical fever has abated humanity’s attention will turn to the powers within.

In Our Abode all research is directed toward the freeing of humanity from the machine. In this process one must educate the heart. One must learn to listen to its voice”. Modified, Supermundane, 22.

And also:

Truly, only the heart bestows immortality. An affirmation of the heart is itself a revelation of the future”. Heart, 23

The power of the heart overcomes absolutely anything”. Heart, 74

The Epoch of Maitreya is the Age of the Heart. We are in it. As we practice the art of thinking in the Heart, the unifier of all worlds, the artistry of our thinking for the common good has the capacity to preserve health and, simultaneously, purify the atmosphere.  This focus on the good is “the salvation of the future” in which each thought of good is an arrow of Light. Fiery World II, 286.

Absolutely everything which refers to the luminous future is connected with Light. But people do not know how to rejoice at Light as energy. In the application of light treatments without using the opportunity to explain the significance of Light the physician and scholar are equally guilty. The ray of light acts on everything—muscles, bones and nerves. The brain lives by means of light; the vital substance of the brain is in need of rays of light. One can enumerate all the physiological conditions, and they will prove the Teaching of Light.

One should develop concentration in order to observe what a remarkable exchange takes place between the radiations of thinking beings and the external rays of Infinity—the spatial rays are stretched like silvery threads. Aum, 144

This occurs at an individual level, through groups and at the national level. The art of thinking in any nation is indicative of the health of the nation. Further, the thinking of all 8 billion plus of Humanity currently in incarnation is responsible for health and atmosphere of the planet. Such a responsibility to lift our thinking to the level of artistry!

“The benevolent thinker is surrounded by a rainbow, and through her/his light brings healing. So many times We have foretold the future of these radiations. We have said that with such a criterion the very structure of life will be transformed. One may rightly call Light the principle which leads to regeneration. Thought and Light are so closely linked that thought may be called luminiferous Aum, 143

In this threshold year of new beginnings, it is not easy to know constantly and courageously that each moment renovates the worlds, but out of this source is born inexhaustible vigour. The light of the future is the Light of Hierarchy. Fiery World II, 70.

Let the future stand revealed as we stand in its Revelation.
