The Tide of Light

There is a growing tide, a swelling of the human heart, that is gradually moving beyond the conflict-ravaged currents of the passing world and is bringing us to a peaceful shore where joy rules and where we enter into soul-being, our Christ Nature. A beautiful reminder of this inexorable process is offered in the editorial of the latest Beacon magazine which contained this quote: “Out of the tomb of worldliness and selfishness, and the grave-cloths of materialism, ignorance and error, the Eternal Christ is coming forth… The Divine Spirit is always rising within humanity.” [Easter by E. The editorial ends with a reminder of how we can serve the new tide in human evolution:

“At this time, when there is so much darkness and conflict in human affairs, the spiritual aspirants of the world stand resolute, their gaze lifted towards the vision of the new world forming. Let us stand together united, gathering in the forces of renewal that are sweeping through the planetary ethers at this time. And let us breathe out the energy of joy and hope to all human souls who are struggling in the darkness of despair and anxiety, that they too, may rise and find the freedom that beckons from the kingdom of the soul.” [The Beacon, April – June 2026]

It can be challenging but uplifting to shift our sense of being out of the old, fading identity and begin to realise and express our soul nature in each moment of the passing day. What at first may be fleeting shifts can, with focussed intention, become a continuity of lighted presence helping to augment the tide of light sweeping the world and quietly advancing beneath the noise of the daily media’s focus on the dying of the old world. This new tide moves on the energy of joy whose bells can only be heard in the heart. For only there, in the heart, can we attune to the realm of joy and light – even in the midst of Armageddon.

“Keep your eye on the many events taking place. They cannot be thought of as chance occurrences; rather, they are spreading across the world according to a certain law. It is as if invisible hands were touching numerous strings. Moreover, you can notice that formerly silent strings are beginning to resonate again, and more powerfully than ever. Those who understand Armageddon to be a field in which signs of the highest energy manifest are correct. This battlefield cannot be something that arises accidentally; rather, it is like a magnet that attracts opposing energies. The field of the future City of Light is destined to act as a counterbalance to this battlefield. Just as the existence of the field of Armageddon is proclaimed by the clash and clatter of arms, the existence of the field of the City of Light is proclaimed by the peal of bells. According to the contrast, one can judge the dimensions of the destined. So you might turn your ears to the din of the battle in order to hear the ringing of the bells.” [Heart, sloka 253]

Humanity is coming of age. We are no longer ignorant children waiting for God to solve the problems we have created for ourselves. Instead we are realising our role as agents of God, as the hands and feet that bring the divine into the world. And with that realisation we are beginning to take up our responsibility in the divine Plan – as true sons and daughters of God. The following account reminds us of our role in the divine Plan for our world:

“…On the way back, under the full moon, Christ spoke those memorable words…. He was looking on as the moonlight poured onto the sands. ‘We have lost the way,’ I told Him. ‘We have to wait and find out the positions of the stars.’
‘Rasul Morya, why should We bother about the way, when the entire world is waiting for Us?’ Then, taking His bamboo staff He traced a square around His footprint and said, ‘Truly, by human feet.’ And having made an impression with His palm, He enclosed it in a square. ‘Truly, by human hands.’
Between the squares He drew what looked like a pillar crowned with an arc. He said: ‘Oh, how Aum will penetrate the human consciousness! Here I have drawn a pistil with an arc above it, and have laid the foundation in four directions. When the Temple is built by human feet and human hands—the Temple where the pistil placed by Me will blossom—then may the builders walk My path. Why wait for a path, when the path is before Us?’ And standing up, He erased with His staff everything that He had drawn.
‘When the Name of the Temple is uttered, this image shall appear. As a reminder of My constellation, a square and nine stars shall shine above the Temple. The sign of the foot and the hand shall be inscribed on the cornerstone.’…” [Leaves of Morya’s Garden II, Sloka 153]

All of creation is founded on relationship, the cohering force that connects everything. It is given progressive direction through the relationship of Spirit and Matter, the eternal and the temporary, the divine and the human. The magnetic pull of the greater life substanding all outer appearances carries us onward in a constantly growing tide that will eventually eclipse all lesser currents. We join this tide through attuning to it through the human heart.

“To see with the eyes of the heart; to hear the roar of the world with the ears of the heart; to peer into the future with the understanding of the heart; to remember past accumulations through the heart—that is how the aspirant must boldly advance on the path of ascent. Creativity embraces the fiery potential and comes to be saturated with the sacred fire of the heart. … How can seekers radiate the rays manifested if there is no flame affirmed in their hearts? It is precisely the quality of a magnet that lies latent in the heart. The loftiest creativity is pervaded with this great law. Thus, every consummation, every unification, every cosmic union is achieved through the flame of the heart. In what way can a foundation be laid for great steps? Truly, only by way of the heart. The arcs of consciousness merge in the flame of the heart. So let us keep in mind the wondrous attraction of the magnet of the heart, which links all manifestations. …” [Heart, sloka 1]

A mighty hearth-fire radiates and flows through all heart-connections, illuminating the way for our shared destiny to reveal itself – ever more fully, ever more beautiful and true.
