There are 525,600 minutes in a year.  One of them is being focussed to hold a minute of Silence for global cooperation. Given the magnitude of the response to the Solstice Silent Minute Initiative to date around the planet, colleagues and coworkers have translated the flyers into thirteen languages.

We invite you to assist in building the momentum. Please contact us if you’re willing and able to translate the flyer into other languages. In the meantime, we would appreciate your sharing information with those who will distribute the flyer with communities around the world so that millions of us have the opportunity to participate in one minute of Silence – the same minute everywhere – calibrated to 9.00pm GMT/UTC on 21 December 2019 at 9 pm.

  2. Thank you for your inspiring activity regarding the Minute of Silence on 21 December — and others leading up to this.

Am writing re some confusion (for me, at least) regarding the timing for NY. The Book Marks indicate 4 p.m. but the following is indicated in an online search, and as a New Yorker have always been aware of a 4 hour difference between UTC and NY, not 5 hours.

9:00 PM Saturday, Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) is
5:00 PM Saturday, Eastern Time (ET)

      Dear Lynne,
It’s lovely to hear from you and to know that you will be joining us for the Silent Minute.
We have based all times on the World Clock Time Zone converter at timeanddate.com :
      https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter-classic.html
This is usually correct and it adjusts for daylight saving where applicable. Using that facility provides this comparative timing:
UTC (Time Zone) Saturday, 21 December 2019 at 9:00:00 pm UTC UTC
New York (USA – New York) Saturday, 21 December 2019 at 4:00:00 pm EST UTC-5 hours

We’ve also checked other Time Zone converters and they all indicate UTC-5 hours for New York.

      I trust this helps?
      In light and love,
      Judy
