2024 THEME: RESTORE TRUTH THROUGH
SILENCE AS ACTION
IN THOUGHT, WORD AND DEED
The Annual Global Silent Minute held on 21 December 2023 at 9 PM GMT launched the theme for 2024; to restore Truth through Silence as Action in thought, word and deed.
We use the word “restore” as we recognise that Truth is something we already know. We are restoring our re-membrance of this knowing; this knowing of the living, radiant power of Truth that resounds in the Heart.
Silence as Action frequently demands that we speak
We acknowledge that the restoration of Truth through Silence as Action in thought, word and deed does not preclude verbal expression. In fact, it frequently demands it. Silence as Action emanates from our point of identification: immersed within a creative point of tension within the greater Life and, from this point of tension, we may or may not speak. What we do, however, is radiate. Our sound goes forth from the fiery well or the creative tension of Silence. Martin Luther King Jr’s delivery of his “I have a Dream” speech is an example of Silence as Action. It may seem contradictory to say that his speech – using the form of words – is Silence as Action but it’s not. It’s a paradox. He was the mouthpiece for the emergence of an evolutionary aspect of freedom. Further, the thousands of people who constellated around him at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC on 28 August 1963 were drawn into the creative tension of Silence as Action as the evolutionary energy of equality was generated and radiated powerfully through their hearts.
Martin Luther King Jr restored the re-membrance of the truth of divine equality within humanity. He ignited the re-membrance of that reality in the hearts of those present as he served to facilitate the adjustment to the fabric of humanity, and, as he said, to iron out “the crooked spaces” to make them “straight”.
Martin Luther King Junior said:
I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word in reality. That is why right, temporarily defeated, is stronger than evil triumphant.
We could cite many examples of Silence as Action …and, in 2024, no doubt we will be presented with opportunities to express Silence as Action. And with Pluto’s entry into Aquarius on 20 January 2024, the astrological energies will be supportive of this restoration of Truth from the creative tension of Silence and its expression through the heart in thought, word and deed.
And there’s beauty in this…
Beauty-the eternal companion of Truth
John Keats in Ode on a Grecian Urn, captured his knowing of the identical atonement of the two fiery energies: Beauty and Truth which he distilled to:
Beauty is truth, truth beauty,—that is all
Ye know on earth, and all ye need to know.”
Truth, at its essence, is synonymous with Beauty!
What is Beauty?
In a letter to her students to prepare them for an imminent Masters Day on 24th March, Helena Roerich wrote that in their relationships they:
…carried the sacred, unchanging watch of beauty. For you, beauty is not just the beauty of a joke, but is the basis of life. Without beauty, there can be no living foundations of all Being. Living Ethics can be alive only for those in whom the word about the beautiful always lives. First in words and then in the silent beating of the heart lives a beautiful truth. External words are not needed where the deepest feeling merges with the beating of the heart.”
And, the fire of the heart illumines the way to truth:
The truth of Eternity is in beauty of the spirit.
The spirit knows where beauty is”.

A year to Beautify
In 2024 we are invited to restore Truth through Silence as Action through thought, word and deed knowing that we are simultaneously anchoring the power of Beauty into the Manifest World.
In the Agni Yoga Teachings it is said that:
the realisation of beauty will save the world”.
New Era Community, sloka 27.
When correctly understood, truth is the wisest and most beautiful chapter in the book of the Cosmos.”

Through our realisation of beauty/truth through Silence as Action we do our part in not only world service and saving, but also humanity’s acquisition of wings!!!
