FULL MOON: Tues 10th March 4:47 am AEDT (Time in Sydney, Australia)
We have almost come to the end of the astrological year, with Pisces being the last sign of the zodiac. In reality, there is no real beginning and ending, as ALL signs merge and blend into one large entity of massive proportion. Yet for the processes of any cycle, there needs to be a starting point and an ending, though new cycles are always starting and ending at different points of living.
The mantra for Pisces is “I leave the Father’s home and turning back, I save.” Pisces represents completion. The next sign in the zodiac – Aries – is the sign which gets energy moving and is the initiating spark. Pisces on the other hand, rounds everything up, completing the process of a cycle. Through that cycle, there are many challenges, changes of direction, death to outworn forms and learning through adversity, yet it all needs to be put together collectively for assimilation at some point, and here enters Pisces.
Pisces is a mutable water sign, meaning the water that can expand like the ocean, or better still, like the universe itself. There is no containment of this energy, it has free reign to merge into the complete unknown, not bound by any form we recognise. We could say that the energy of Pisces is limitless, expanding past all recognised barriers, into the subconscious or the superconscious.
It has been interesting observing the actions and behaviours of Australians this week. Some people started panic buying long-life items (oats, pasta, rice, tinned food) and for some reason – toilet paper – in response to the increasing threat of the Coronavirus. Once this starts, others immediately feel like they are missing out and even after reassurance that supply is actually fine and not running out, panic buying is wiping out the stock displays. People are very much acting instinctively and not listening.
Only in the sign of Pisces could this hysteria run wild like this, uninhibited, just like the energy of the fishes (symbol of Pisces). The ruling planets of Pisces – Jupiter, before the discovery of Neptune – are both planets which assist this unimpeded and restricted flow of energy. Jupiter expands anything that it influences, whilst Neptune dissolves into the great collective whole. You can see both of their impressions upon this type of situation, plus of course, the spread of the virus itself.
The esoteric ruler of Pisces is Pluto, perhaps a surprise to all. While on the outer surface, the ruling planets of Jupiter and Neptune are influencing current events, look a little deeper and you might see the transformative and powerful energy of Pluto at play here. Pluto is ruled by Ray 1, which brings in Will and Power. What could be more useful now than for people to show Will and strength in their thinking and actions? Not a Will that divides and gets caught up in primal reaction and survival of the fittest (very much base chakra). No, we need to show a strength of Will that looks at the bigger picture, observing without emotional attachment while still looking at the inevitable fact that we are all in this together, whether we like it or not.
China’s coronavirus problem is our problem. America’s political situation affects us all. The effects of global corporations and their exploitation and misuse of the environment and people trickles down to all of us. Pisces reminds us that we are all connected, all thrown in together on this Earth, all part of a greater whole that exists way beyond our conscious minds. And here at this level, it requires the Will of something within us – the higher part of us – to sift through the current happenings and understand our current situation better. From there, we can exercise that Will to break through the forms that keep us in the past where we lived as in separation. We will not be returning to that way of life, regardless of whether people want to go back there or not.
At the time of the Full Moon, the Moon itself will be in Virgo. This sign is said to influence many things – work, money, service, purity, plus of course – Health. All things very much affected currently. Not only are we looking at the purification of our own bodies, making sure we are healthy and pure to not contract a virus if it threatens, but the energy here highlights the health of the earth itself. I am sure it has its own self-survival mechanisms in place, so if we are poisoning an area or are not living in harmony with it, it can activate its own responses to protect itself. Think about that for a minute and how that might affect you personally!!!
The other thing that the peak energy of the Virgo Full Moon will offer us will be – common sense (hopefully – just thinking of the empty toilet paper shelves). The down to earth nature of Virgo balances beautifully the spiritually-focussed Pisces. One is bound to earthy nature, the physical body and how that is used to serve and work. The other is all about spirit, how that is connected to the subconscious and the eternal.
