Sun in Virgo – Birthing a New Era

Virgo’s energy is so embedded into what we do everyday that we hardly notice it

People often associate Virgo with work, money, service, earth, purity and order in the physical environment, but it is of course much more than this in its higher vibration. It is said that it is perhaps one of the oldest signs, also the Virgo constellation is the second largest constellation in the sky after Hydra. This perhaps gives us a clue to the nature of Virgo and its influence upon the earth, as its energy is probably so embedded into what we do everyday that we hardly notice it, so its influence is perhaps stronger then we realise. Our lives mostly consist of routine of some sort, with work and some portion of service as part of our every day activities, so you could say we live quite a Virgo existence.

The birthing of the new into matter
When we consider the higher vibration of Virgo, we can look to the mantram for this sign “I am the mother and the child, I God, I matter am“. It would appear that with this, there is an emphasis on the birthing of the new into matter or physical being. One could sense though that there is no real distinction between God and matter (or physicality) because in Virgo the two meet to live here on the physical planes of the earth.

Could it be that we are coming to a high point, a crux for some current happenings and this will be highlighted at the time of the full moon?

We are coming to a high point At the time of the full moon, the Sun, which is in Virgo, is sitting in the 10th house of the outer public expression. If the 4th house is one’s home, you could say that the 10th is the outer home and this is why it is often related to one’s career. The Sun in this chart is conjunct the mid heaven, which appears to be significant when you think about it. The mid heaven is the high point of the chart, and at the time of the full moon, the Sun is just about at the top for this time of year. Could it be that we are coming to a high point, a crux for some current happenings and this will be highlighted at the time of the full moon? It certainly involves outer expression and out in the public, because it is related to the 10th house.

Capricorn rules this chart
The ascendant of this chart, and therefore its ruler, is Capricorn, which breaks the run we have had recently of water sign ascendants at the time of the full moon. Capricorn, like Virgo is an earth sign, so combined with the Sun in Virgo, it really brings a strong earth influence and physical matter element to current energies. This will bring a strong emphasis to bear on our environment, our lands, the material, our everyday.

One senses big happenings for the Earth

The strongest influence here with Capricorn is, however, its more esoteric influence. Capricorn often symbolises the goat and its journey up the mountain to reach the top, the pinnacle. Initiations both great and minor involve the sign Capricorn. With this ruling the chart, plus the Sun conjunct the mid heaven, one senses big happenings for the Earth, and certainly those who inhabit a physical plane body. Added to this is the fact that Pluto the transformer is sitting in Capricorn also in the 1st house, bringing a sense of some type of shift.

Saturn is holding the peace
This is further supported by the esoteric ruler of Capricorn, Saturn, which is in Scorpio in the 11th house of community or humanity. Saturn sits in favourable aspects to both the opposing Sun and moon, so you could say it is holding the peace there with its karmic obligations and responsibilities to do what is right. It would seem that with what is happening in the world, humanity is seeing both that they have responsibility to others and also that there are definite obligations for decisions made, in the past and also now.

Moon in Pisces
The moon in this chart is in Pisces, so expect a level of sensitivity, sentiment and feeling to exist, especially in relation to one’s home or country (4th house). The moon is also conjunct Chiron, and is close to Neptune, all in Pisces, further adding to the creation of a healing energy between the three. This may be there to counterbalance some of the other energies. They are opposite the sun though, so as always with an opposition, we must find the right balance between the two.

What are your obligations here to other human beings, what will be the consequences of physical actions made?

It could be why there seems to be a lot of division at the moment about different matters affecting all of us in the world. Look to Saturn in this chart, to help us decide. It would say – what are your obligations here to other human beings, what will be the consequences of physical actions made?
