In view of Kathy Rose’s indication of new facilitating astrological energies in connection with compassion*, perhaps it is time to re-view the classic TED talk on the subject by Joan Halifax.
In her talk, Joan says that effective compassion requires an essential component – that of not being attached to outcomes – which, if allowed, distorts our ability to be fully present.
Joan states that compassion also has enemies; such as pity, moral outrage, and fear. She also asks a rather unusual question; “Why don’t we train our children in compassion?”
