Isn’t it Time to Turn Your Heart into a Temple of Fire?

As the spiral of evolution continues to expand into its upward trajectory our world moves from one point of balance to another between past and future, destruction and creation, old and new, fear and love. And in the current moment we seem to be arriving at an unprecedented and precarious point of balance as the human heart awakens from a long slumber in the instinctual world of physical survival and fear, and the soul begins to shine into the world.

Through the awakening heart comes the realisation that love is the eternal lifeline – that there is no death, only the dissolution of forms that the eternal spirit animates for a period of time in the great process of spiritualising our planet right through to its densest layers in the material world. Thinking in the heart brings a realisation of the inexorable progress of the evolutionary spiral driven by divine intention. In the Agni Yoga teachings we learn that:

There are two kinds of logic: the logic of external reasoning, which one attempts to learn from textbooks, and that of mental synthesis, by which one collects and links the sparks of spatial thought. These sparks may seem to be a happy accident, even though this ‘accident’ may have been ripening in space for an entire century. The broadened consciousness provides the best possibility of grasping the nodes of spatial thought.
…. As rings of the spiral show to the observer the outer turns and conceal the inner turns, so mental logic proceeds according to the limits of the outer turns while the inner turns are still merged in the streams of collective thought in space. Hence, We take such care about the broadening of the consciousness, in order that union with spatial thought may be approached.
This must be accepted as simply as is the vital importance of oxygen. Equally simple should be the idea of the spiral nature of all that exists, and of creative explosions. Thus the breath of the Cosmos will be realized as an ascending spiral…” Agni Yoga 361.

With the constant battering which our planet is undergoing from extreme weather events and unsolvable wars, old values and identities that previously seemed so permanent and foundational are being stripped away allowing the light of truth to shine through and awaken the human heart to a new dawn unlike any previous dawning. This new dawn heralds the era of the soul coming alive through the consciousness of the human kingdom.

The light of truth arises as we see through the false beliefs, ideologies and rationalisations behind our exploitation of the natural world and behind the wars that destroy lives, nations and land. Even as the dynamic of the old world continues its destructive course, a new world is emerging as fundamental truths come to the fore in human awareness. And the process is speeding up as we move through these “end times”. The more destruction we see, the more we realise the futility of our attachment to material form and the more soul values guide.

Each epoch has its own distinctions. Each peculiarity of time is an imprint of consciousness. These manifestations of peculiarities can be magnified by the will of humanity. The peculiarities of the epoch, in the same way as evocations, have their roots in the consciousness. … Long ago was it enjoined, “Seek and ye shall find.” In this evolutionary and incessant turn of the spiral, man will find the Truth. The affirmation of Truth is purified of all distortions, because the rubbish and accumulated dust is transitory. But Truth is manifested in Infinity. And though human darkening be prolonged, yet from under the dark strata will be exhumed the affirmations of the Light. Thus, that which is ordained enters in awesome immensity.” Fiery World III 184.

The destruction we are witnessing is immediate and deeply concerning but it is revealing the truth behind outer events. Let us direct our focus constructively towards what is to come. And let us hold to the knowledge that all that is currently occurring is a prelude to a more beautiful future where the heart flowers, and so add our energy to the creation of the new world. A new equilibrium is about to emerge at a higher turn of the spiral.

While today we witness conflict between individuals, nations, and between humanity and the planet, the new civilisation will be founded on the realisation, already taking hold, of the oneness of life streaming through all its interconnections and demonstrated in the fusion of great dualities. The visible Presence of the Christ and the spiritual Hierarchy will demonstrate this fusion and make possible a more rapid development. As the Tibetan Master foretells:

…the Christ, Representative of humanity and of the second divine aspect, will demonstrate within Himself, during the Aquarian Age and after His reappearance, certain major fused and blended dualities…
1. The fusion of the second divine aspect of Love and the first divine aspect of Will—the Will-to-good.
2. The fusion of love and wisdom, enabling Him to be the Builder of the new age and civilisation.
3. The fusion of Piscean energy, generated during the past two thousand years of Christ’s spiritual activity and the Aquarian energies to be generated and active on Earth during the next two thousand years, or two thousand five hundred.”
… It is to the whole world that Christ comes … He comes to the East and to the West, and has foreseen this “time of the end,” with its planetary catastrophes, phenomenal disasters, despair and invocation—arising from both the East and West. He knew that in the time of final crisis and tension, humanity itself would force His emergence.” The Reappearance of the Christ, pages 98 and 100

With global systems of economy, communications, and distribution precariously vacillating, material life as we know it at every level and in every location is undergoing a great upheaval. Through this breakdown the way is being opened for a new civilisation based on new values. The Tibetan describes what is to come:

The stimulation of the objective Hierarchy will be increasingly potent and the Aquarian Age will see so many of the sons of men accepting the great Renunciation that world effort will be on the same scale as the mass education of mankind in the Piscean Age. Materialism as a mass principle will be rejected and the major spiritual values will assume greater control. The Reappearance of the Christ, page 129

Through all that is happening, the human heart is going through a fiery awakening and carrying us into a higher turn of the spiral where divinity and humanity are merged as intended from the beginning of time:

When the searchlight of the mind is penetrating slowly into hitherto unrecognised aspects of the divine mind, when the magnetic qualities of the heart are awakening and becoming sensitively responsive to both the other aspects, then the man becomes able to function in the new unfolding realms of light, love and service.” The Reappearance of the Christ, page 128 and 129
