The Chalice of the Heart

This video is over an hour long, but it’s quite wonderful to watch even a snippet of it. Published by Monadic Media, ‘The Chalice of the Heart’ is based upon Mary Gray’s book “The Chalice of the Heart – Christian Teachings of the Greek Adept 1949”  (available from Amazon).

Psalm 27:-

The one thing I ask of the Lord
That which I seek most
Is to live in the House of the Lord all the days of my life
Delighting in the Lord’s perfections
and meditating in His Temple.

The Lord is my light and my salvation
So why should I be afraid?
Though a mighty army surrounds me,
My heart shall not fear.

Though war may rise against me,
I will remain confident
For in the time of trouble
He shall hide me in His Pavillion
In the secret place of His Tabernacle
He shall set me high upon a rock.

Then I will hold my head high.
I would have lost heart unless I had believed
that I would see the goodness of the Lord
in the land of the living.

Wait patiently for the Lord.
Be brave and courageous
and He shall strengthen your heart.
Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.

About Mary Gray

Mary Gray was born in Paris in 1886.  She knew many of the outstanding leaders of thought in Europe and America.  She was an active Theosophist, originally from Boston, who owned the property in Ojai California, that became the new home for Krishnamurti and his brother Nitya in 1922: –

Mary Gray also opened a Theosophical school near Hollywood in 1918 called School of the Open Gate: –

They had to move after the giant Hollywoodland sign (now just “Hollywood”) was erected right above their property.

There is a magazine article by Mary Gray entitled, ‘Beauty in Life’ from 1936, published in The Theosophist: –

Because of the ugliness, noise, dirt and confusion of our cities the Shining Host cannot reach us there, but wherever man offers conditions of beauty and peace, there they come to bless the race. Not only in the places of natural beauty, but in gardens and in great cathedrals, there the influence of the Deva-s is found.

As we pour more and more of love and radiance and power through the vehicles to the world, so shall more of that spiritual beauty which is the Christ spirit within us manifest. Only as we pour it out can it rise within us, for if we are inward-turned and concerned about our own progress and our own development, we close the channels, and the stream of life can flow neither in nor out. Then we starve to death for lack of spiritual food, so that our vehicles shrivel. The secret of the attainment of beauty manifest in us lies in the opening of ourselves to the full force of the Cosmic Christ light, that it may sweep into us and through us to the world. As we become channels for this great power, the light of eternal beauty glorifies us and pours out in ever increasing measure to the service of the world.
