Reframing Pain

Is it time to re-frame our experience of PAIN
in the light of its purpose as
the PURIFYING AGENT
wielded by the
LORDS OF DESTINY
to bring about
LIBERATION?

The question is rhetorical. According to the Tibetan Master Djwahl Kuhl:

Pain has always been the purifying agent, employed by the Lords of Destiny to bring about Liberation.^i.

It is interesting to note that the Tibetan is not referring to pain as a purifying agent but rather the purifying agent. The beauty of the exquisite experience of pain is that it is arresting and requires attention. And, if we permit ourselves to track the experience of the pain beyond its physical symptom to its subtle or fiery cause, frequently the symptom disappears, having served its purpose in delivering its intended revelation. And we experience the free-flowing energy of liberation.

The Tibetan asserts that this method of employing pain as the purifying agent is not undertaken by the Lords of Karma, but rather the Lords of Destiny, so it is implied that pain relates to our unfolding future.

Further, there is a Lord of Pain, an embodied individuality who has a role to play to ignite the instinct to immortality. Whilst we’re quite familiar with our instinct for self-preservation, to what degree are we in touch with our instinct for immortality? If we reflect on the definition of instinct we will recall that it is considered innate – a pattern of behaviour that arises in response to certain stimuli – rather than something that is acquired. It is within us all, dormant until activated.

The Tibetan says:

The Lord of Pain has descended from His throne and is treading the ways of earth today, bringing distress, agony and terror to those who cannot interpret His ends, but bringing also a re-stimulation of the instinct to self-preservation which – in its higher aspect – is the instinct to immortality; it tends to focus humanity’s attention upon the life aspect and not upon the form.^ii.

Perhaps it is time to re-frame our experience of pain by being open to what the Lord of Pain is purposefully awakening in us – the instinct to immortality – with its accompanying shift of humanity’s focus to the life aspect?

When pain knocks – within our individual/group/national/international vehicles – let us be curious as to its originating cause from the Fiery/Spirit and Subtle/Soul realms impulsed by the Lords of Destiny as the purifying agent to bring liberation at individual/group/national/international levels.
